Default Help Kazuma 90cc will not start

I have a 90cc kazuma falcon. It sat up for about 6 months. When I went to start it, of course it would not start - carb gummed up. I replaced the carb with a new one. It's got great spark, but for some reason the gas is not making it's way to the intake. The plug is completely dry. I switched carbs again - another new one. Still no gas in the intake. It will fire off when a spray starter fluid up until it burns up. So I know its not a spark issue. It just does not seem to get gas in the intake.... almost like no suction. The ATV has less than 10hrs running time on it. Please help, this is driving me crazy and my 7 year old daughter wants to ride.

I have heard that. Do you know how, or a reference where I can find this info? Is it the valves that creates the suction for the fuel? thx

send me your e-mail address and i'll send you instructions on the valve adjustment. no the piston moving on the intake stroke (down) creates the vacuum allowing the air fuel mixture into the cylinder. more than likely if your valves have never been adjusted before they will be to tight and are not closing all the way, allowing the mixture to escape on the compression stroke and also causing low compression. luvmysxs@yahoo.com

That post is from 2008 doubt if luvmysxs is here anymore.

Set the piston to top dead centre on the compression stroke. Remove valve covers, check clearance between adjuster and valve stem is about 0.002" with a feeler gauge, if it is much less, you will be loosing compression. Too much and you get noisy valves and a slight loss in power. The 0.002" is a bit of a guess, but I have the Kazuma manual and, though it tells you how to take the engine apart, it doesn't give settings. Other Honda Cub clone valve settings seem to vary between 0.0015" and 0.003"
