no , it is contained in the bumper , protected and all. shoulda had a pic. besides , gas is not that volatile , you can take a gas can , kick it , hit it with a hammer , pour gas on concrete and hit it with a hammer and ....nothing! you ever see someone light gas with a cigarette on tv ? it does not work in deal life. how namy car crashes really end with explosions? maybe 1 in a million .

Vinson, yeah you can get them at any home improvment store/auto store. They make them in different sizes/ metals depending on how strong you need them to be.

A gas can is plenty safe behind the front bumper. A wreck bad enough to make it dangerous would probably kill or mame you anyways. You ride with a few gallons between your legs all the time. If it were that dangerous they'd have metal fuel cells like race cars.

 

well i will have to send you a pic of what i did. i used sheet metal, 3 sheets, and it looks good like factory, what i did was i took one piece, and then each piece i made a little larger, then i curved over each "flap" or side of metal. it seems to be very strong, thanks to the 6 ply side, because they are doubbled
