Default 22x12x9 Kenda's on an Ozark?

Wondering if these bad boys will fit my '03 Ozark as far as clearance is concerned. Stock is 22x10x9. I've seen several 11" wide tires I can go with but this is the first set of 12" I have come across. Also wondering about the extra tire weight and how that may effect my drivetrain life. Any other tire suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.

They will probably work. Just measure all around the inside of your current tires to see if anything within 1" will rub on the 12" wide tires. They will stick out 1" more on each side. As I recall the last time I looked at my Ozark, it's easier to put bigger tires in the back than the front clearance-wise.

You will get muddier running with these tires since they will stick out 1" further.

Might want to check the weight on these tires. The stock Dunlops weight 16.1 lbs each. You might notice speed loss if they weigh much more than that.

Are you sure you don't want to go with the Mud Lites in the 22x11x9 size instead? These only weigh 15.8lbs and are 6 ply.

I am considering Mudlites or Gators but saw these and thought I'd ask a few questions. That does seem like a lot of tire for just a 250. Probably go with the Mudlites or Gators. My brother has Mudlites on his Rancher and a buddy just ordered some Gators for his Ozark so I'll have to see what I like better. Are the Gators 6-ply? I've heard the Gators wear better too.

Thanks.

I see that you ride in the same area as I. Maybe we can get together sometime a ride. Your photos are awesome. Clearance problems? I don't think you should have any problems. I am going to check with Suzuki about drivetrain wear in relation to larger tires. Please, go with the Gators, the logo on the sidewall is sweet action.

The Gators are 6 ply and are heavier. The 22x10-9 size are 19.6lbs each

The Kenda Bearclaws iin the 22x12-9 size weigh about 26lbs each!

26 lbs!!! Wow. Looks like Gators or Mudlites. Have any idea what the Mudlites weigh? What's your recommendation? I have heard the Mudlites wear quicker. My riding is mainly moderate to very, very muddy conditions normally. Thanks.

Hey Harrydunn,
Tell ya what, I have 11" Gators on my Suzuki. Let's meet at Finger Lakes State Park and hit the trails. I know a guy who has MudLites on his Honda. If we can get together you can see both in the mud. Of course in the mud more weight is always better, so maybe you shouldn't eliminate the Kenda's yet.

I have been making a list of tires in this size for the Ozark. DK is Dennis Kirk price. I think the Goodyear Trackers come on the Honda Recon stock but I'm not 100% sure.
