well my 230s when it was stock destroyed a 230e. the S model is lighter and throws more power to the rear wheels. but the 230e has more pulling power than anything. the 230e has more internal mass to move than the 230s. with the S having smaller and lighter materials it has the advantage in top speed and quicker take off. since the engine mods on my 230s, my buddy's 230e cant catch it.

Suzuki made the 230e because most people couldnt adjust to how the 230s kickstarts. plus if you have over 228psi compression its kind of a pain to start without the decomp lever. but when they produced the 230e they made it to heavy in my opinion. i think its almost 70-85lbs heavier, that explains why they put a rezzie shock on the rear. basically the 230e was more user friendly and it was a sport/utility model. at one time they had snow plows, trailer hitches, a cable whench. it was basically the replacement for the 230ge.

okay so pretty much its like no competion. I have a running lt230e that we fixed up and it runs well but slow... Thats why i was wondering about lt230s cuz i don't want to waste 500 on something that i allready have running. u know?

this is like fixing the lt230e all over again...
i need:
swing arm bearings
axle bearings
a-arm bearings
new front and rear sprockets
new chain
new rear shock
new airfilter
new fluids
need to fix rear tires
need to fix front tires
anyother unexpected problems....
thats a list lol

I just rebuilt the top end of my 86 230s with a new .020 piston set. I also rebuilt the carb and got a top end gasket set. My grandpa bought this new in 1986 for my uncle to ride.

I was wondering what aftermarket stuff would give me the most performance for the money.

A little about the old girl
-stock size worn out front tires
-spidertrax 12.5 rear tires
-.020 over
-rebuilt carb
-other wise stock/original

I was thinking maybe a uni filter, exhaust and rejetting the carb?

Definitely go with a uni filter and try to stay away from the cobra pipe. I run a dg rcm pipe (very loud but effective) and a uni 2stage filter with the airbox lid on. As for rejetting the carb when I rebuilt it I put stock jet sizes back in and that's been the best combo I've found yet. I bought a jet kit and tried different sizes but stock jetting works great.

I got mine from cyclepartsnation.com if I remember correctly the DG RCM pipe you can get aluminum or full steel. I can't remember but I think DG also makes another pipe for the 230s. If you need to run a spark arrestor I.e. public or state land I couldn't find a pipe that came with one so I'm currently working on a solution and will let you know when I figure something out.

i run a dg full aluminum as well. sounds wicked loud but oh the power. if youve got an aftermarket grab on the back, be aware of possible fitting issues. other than that, theyre great. i got mine from denniskirk.com for $160. ive got a 2 stage uni too. rockymountainatvmc.com is another great place. ive bought a LOT from them for my build and only had one shipping issue that was worked out that day very swiftly. ill vouch for them big time.
