use a scotch brite pad on rims. I did my extra plastic in yelllow rustolem used the scratch pad between coats going to try that this week because its got no shine how bout those steelers??? j/k</end quote></div>
Should work, as long as it scuffs it up some so the poly will stick, but not so much that you can see the scratches thru the poly. Steel wool is another option. Might work better on the grooves in the rims.
I'm a little outside the norm when it comes to sports. I'll turn a wrench with ya, drink a beer, camping, hunting, n fishing, whatever, but just don't have much interest the ole pigskin. I know I miss a lot of conversation that way, lol.

when i 1st got my rims, i polished them w Mothers alum. paste. it was a little work but they've held a shine pretty well. a quick rub with a soft cloth brings em right back. sure, i'll hafta polish them again eventually but no huge deal, i can watch sports and buff rims at the same time so its all good!

old subject I know, but......... I am about a week away from starting this beast.
1. should I just hope she starts with the 28mm flatside with the jets it comes with and break the motor in "as is" then mess with the jets?2. Or, should I play with the jets b4 I even try to start it? If #2 where should I start, jet wise? 260cc kit, thought it was 265cc, i was wrong again... stage 2 cam, DG excellerator, port polish etc, yada, yada...
I read back, and it looks like the way carb comes will run lean, which is bad...???
I know Randy just drilled, but I am not confident to do that, if any one would screw it up it would be me..

Do you have a stock carb you can start it up with? If not, gforce got some regular numbered jets (read back a ways), but he is also at 7000 ft. I'm at 700 ft so it was REALLY lean with me. I definitely wouldn't want to break in a new engine with a lean carb that wont rev out.

I think he means what jets to run. I think its safe to say the 180 that comes with it will be way too small.
I second the welcome!
