Make a window of time and have plenty of notes coz he likes to talk and you can learn a lot. I wouldn't call unless I had time n energy to BS. If you mention some Randy guy from Dalton, GA, he'll probably remember.... Not sure if that's a good thing or not, lol.

QS270 is the only one to do such with any longevity in this forum...

My stuff would probably still be running ape ****, if it weren't for my dumb luck..</end quote></div>

And I think 270 had a loose rod too. That's why he started burning oil so soon. If the rod is loose, the piston just flops all over inside the cylinder. That flopping wears the rings and cylinder walls. That's what happened to my .060 over job.

Just sent him an email asking for some info and possibly some time. If I remember, he's not that far of a drive. Might get up that way and see him soon.

Traded emails back and forth with Vince today. He thought i was Randy I think. There was a reference to a long rod conversion.................

Think im going with the stock 230 rebuild. With all the steps they take in prep and handling of the part, it should look almost new when it gets back.

Gonna try and ship it out Friday. With luck, it will beat me back home by next Friday.

What do you mean "stock 230 rebuild"? Long rod or no? Replacement rod? Same ole crappy rod? Stock piston?????

There's another guy I told about the long rod too and he said he was going to talk to vince about it. He could be thinkin you are anyone at this point, lol. I haven't talked to him since january.
