Sure, just no flat bottom. Random piles of rocks will do wonders for sustaining life!

We are doing a catfish/bass pond at my friends as we speak.

bd99, How does your ride hold up against the 250s your buddy has?

Bikebandit usually has those gift cards for 10% off and then price match too. http://www.bikebandit.com/nav/giftcards

Just buy the giftcards n turn around and buy your parts.

well, i think i'm done before i got started. i had the left case and cover all set to swap from the other engine. got stuck for a while with the magneto, so i went to change the swing arm bearings. the swing arm is shot. the left side where the bearng sits is broken completelly off. the right side bearing carrier has welded itself to the inside of the swing arm. i slapped the engine back together and called it a day. i dont really want to put any more money into it (cant justify it). now i cant even get that other parts quad i mentioned before because the guy wants to rebuild it. to add insult to injury, the shop called me today and said my rings are in.

on the bright side, there is a guy that wants to buy it from me and i think i can get almost all of my money back. i'm glad the dealer is closed mondays or i would have had a brand new quad in my garage. cant make those kind of impulse decisions.

i think i might look at a brand new raptor 250. this way after i get through the academy for CO i can get my 10 year old his own quad and pass the raptor to him when he's ready.

It's pretty close with us. I make him look stupid in the trails. mines geared low and his is real high so hell pass me out on the straightaways. His has real smooth power through the whole range, mines got plenty of umph down low but the real power hits at higher rpms, kinda feels like a 2 stroke actually. Thats why the hesitation is such a hassle, I gotta get up in the r's but i cant punch it hard to get there. All in all though mines better suited for the riding we do.

The 250 is wider, longer, better shocks, and has bigger bore and a longer rod for higher revving. Basically, the 250 is a "done-up" 230 and should run off and leave you in pretty much any trail or road. That's why I was wondering.

The 250 raptor is nice, but is even more loot than you could possibly throw at the 230. Then again,,,, its on payments so its easier.
