hey guys im finally getting work doen to my 230 its an 87 lt-s 230 so far i have new left side engine cover, chain guard, rear 22' duro low profile tires, suzuki performance rear shock with rezzy, and next invest is 1.5' or 2' wheel spacers for front and a 2' durablue extended axel. bike alreayd has cobra pipe and msr bars. i was wondering im not to sure on if i should send back my 22' tires and get 20s because i do not like look of bigger tires and how they look closer to the fenders. I find it throughs the look away from bike. anyone know if with my stock rim i could send my 22's back and put 20s on or will they look just find where they are low profile? also wondering if anyone has a k & n filter or uni filter if so which one seems to be better and does this add any power to the 230 in any way. also wondering about the stage 1 cam would this fit into a stock 230 and what kind apower would it add to her. Also i got a tripple over sized piston to go in the bike[img][/img][img][/img]</end quote></div>

Sounds like it will be a nice lookin wheeler. I have the 22" tires on mine because I like the added ground clearance for where I ride. I've smacked the bottom of our Outlander on rocks many times and its got darn near a foot of ground clearance. You can look back a few pages for some pics of mine with the new 22" tires and see how they look to you. I like it personally. I have 22" front and rear. There's some pics of it in my gallery too (the last 3 have the new tires).

I have the UNI filter in mine since it was $10 dollars cheapers and I like the fact I can clean it better than I would be able to a K&N. I don't think you'll see any noticable power changes with an air filter. It will mainly just run nicer. At least it did for me.

And yeah, as Ol' QS230 just said, Randy just posted enough info on cams to make your head spin for a year.

That's an old pic. I have an engine in it now. As a matter of fact, it was up to 50 degrees today so I took the ole girl out of a spin. By spin I mean around n round throwin dirt everywhere!

I got all excited n had to do some sort of work to it, so I put my 37 tooth split-sprocket on it I got off ebay 3 or 4 months ago and installed a O-8 needle-jet in the TM-28 carb instead of the P-8 that was in it. Hope the weather is nice tomorrow. I have plans to stretch the chain or wear out the clutch.... Whichever comes first.

It was 8 degrees a couple days ago. They said it was supposed to get colder than in 6 yrs. I don't know if it did or not. Close anyway. The plants I had out on the enclosed porch since 2006 died that day. A couple days later and its back in the 50's.

My shocks are 250S stock shocks all the way around. I found them on ebay.

I was just thinking today while out riding.... If I had unlimited money, I'd buy a ThunderCat and bore the 250 out to a 270 and that's pretty much it. It only needs a few more HP to be perfect.

If you would have taken a poll of my neighbors today, everyone of them would have swore someone was out riding a dirtbike (or 2-stroke quad or trike). I have a 350 Warrior, 250ex, 300 Lakota, and a 220 bayou and none are nearly as fun as the quadsport! The Warrior is too heavy and its power will put me in a tree. The Lakota is even heavier and is an autoclutch. None of the others have nearly the power the quadsport has.

Love my 12/37 gears with the Primary Drive lightweight non-oring chain with 'windows'. I can idle around in 2nd gear and when I wanna throw some dirt to slide the back end around, I just fan the clutch and stab the gas and it throws a roost a good 15-20 feet back and takes off like a rocket! Love it!

Have 22" aggressive mud tires when I want to cover anything behind me. But really like my 20" ITP better. Running 13/41 gears love that. Got Cobra ( not megaphone ) liked it at first but got real tired of the noise quickly! Rebuilt with stock diameter wiseco 12:1 piston, a little porting wheelies in third all day.

Have you ridden the thundercat?

It looks like a bad *** from what I have read!

8 degrees?? WOW! Here we are experiencing a a "false spring" 30's @ night and I think it topped out at 68 today!

No big deal I guess, a customer of mine says that the world is gonna end in 2012 anyway! He was cracking me up! Nostradamas told him so.................. Yep, he is nutz!

So what does the stage 1 webcam do for the wheeler's performance? I'm not huge on the idea of boring my motor out until I have to. Is it worth the $118 and is there anywhere you can get it for less?</end quote></div>

The only "true" test I have on that cam, is putting it in my wifes 93 230. It woke up the bottom to high mid range for sure. The only reason I say true test, when I put it in my 230, I changed the intake, exhaust, jetting and the gearing at the same time.. So what did what?

my wifes is an autoclutch, and soon after I put the cam in, she fried the clutch (it was old, but not slipping b4 though) We upgraded the clutch, and she loves it!
