A 5000lb one. It used to pull my 10,000lb truck thru the slop in OH, so it has no problem pulling that little Ranger.

On the listing it says "5.13 sidekick rear axle and front gears" so the front internals are the same? Is all the gearing done through the axles?

I just registered on a Zuk forum, so maybe someone is an expert and will know what that can and cannot do.

Yeah, the gears are in the axles. You'll need two sets of gears to change it. Ths is the place to go for new stuff Randy's Ring & Pinion. The Differential Experts. Auto Parts & Services.

And while you have the axle apart it would be a real shame not to go ahead n install a locker. I'm guessing $200 per axle for the gears at least and then another $250 for the lockers. About $1000 total and lots of time being dirty.

Here's another Samurai that was just listed:

1986 suzuki samurai jx hard top (RARE)

Ignition assembly, stereo harness, and door keys....seems like things that would be damaged on a stolen vehicle, doesn't it?

I found this nice gear ratio/speed calculator for the Samurai. We know the rear on that one is 5.13, but I wonder what the transfer case is? Anyone have a best guess?

Ack's Gear Ratio/Speed Calulator for Suzuki Samurai

1.0 transfer case will take me to 86mph @ 4000 in 5th.
