Default 85 to 88 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport help.

hey everyone I was without my computer for a bit (lost power supply) anyway i just wanted to thank everyone here again for the old 230 ssupport. i would have naver done a complete rebuild if it wasn't for all you guys sayin how worthy of a machine it was. thought
i'd let all those that helped me know that my problem ended up being a slightly warped crankshaft. this lead to the brand new key i put on the flywheel i replaced shearing. to bad this was the last thing i looked at. the top end rebuild is complete and beautiful i must say. can't wait to ride this old boss against my friends new stuff. i am just waiting for the new crankshaft bearings and I will be riding again.
hey is settin up u'r own picture and personalizing stuff easy on this forum. i think i'll try and do that tonight

Im not shure mike. I would like to say yes, but the head pipe may be diffrent between the two machines. The mounting holes where it attaches to the frame should be the same. But the angle at which the muffler and headpipe meet may be diffrent. Sorry I cant be of help.

thanx for the info..i saw them and will end up purchasing one..

Good news.. the 230E started up..took awhile but it started..need to adjust the idle, it will not stay on its own..

I do have a problem with the brakes...i flushed the lines out and tried to let out all the air but now the brakes wont work, i used dot3 for brake fluid (that is recommended on 230E) the brakes were working before i did this..any solutions are greatly appreciated...</end quote></div>

Well you may not need it now but,
The stock part number for the muffler on the 1987 LT230SH Quadsport and the 1987 LT230EH Quadrunner are the same.
As far as I know there was no such thing as a 86 LT230E quadrunner.
But I may be wrong.

hey qs230, I have just redone my top end and i found that the cheapest way for new motor parts is thruogh e-bay motors. there are 2 that come to mind, BIKERCHICKLTD and, ATVUNLIMITED. the bikerchick is very good at shipping the next day, the other took a few days before shippng. anyway if you go to e-bay and just search for ( lt230 motor ) you will get all the stores and compare prices yourself. I hope this helps you. 230's rule and it should be fixed.
oh and the atvunlimited store usually has all the bearings the 230 will ever need
