Here's the pics of that 230 after a weekend of work. Still not running great though. I hope its not the magneto.

well I cracked the case on my brand new quad yesterday . I should have checked the swingarm but didnt. I was driving around at full speeds but I got lucky and it came off in reverse. put a 2 or 3 inch hole in the magneto cover. I have a spare Im gonna put on but gonna jb weld the old one back together. Swingarm is already fixed just need to fix the magneto cover now.

thanks for the links atvman I will probably buy that shifter off ebay

Thanks for all the positive feedback. Got great news just 10 minutes ago. Found me a powder coater. He is only going to charge me $150 to redo my frame and everything else that i painted lime green. and it is the exact color match to what i have now. I totally found him by accident. he restores old thunderbirds for a living and owns his own oven and powder coating equip. So rebuild part 2 coming up guys.

Im new to this forum and this is my first post . I have a 1987 suzuki lt230s,the engine just went dont quite know what happened?but we will talk about that later. I was wondering if i bought 250r shocks for the front suspension if they would just bolt up or not i want a little better feel in the front end.

welcome to the forum!! yes they should bolt right up. BUT they have to be set on the lightest preload setting. Also it will add an unsightly camber to the front wheels. I would personally recommend getting a set of WORKS front shocks. If you want a better feel in the front end its gauranteed with their shocks. You gotta remember most 250r shocks are probly worn out and leaking. I just did a full resto job on my 230 and finding a perfect pair of 20 + year shocks is almost impossible.
