Yikes! The Suzuki Dealer near me charged me $80 for one.... I always wondered why there was a guy selling them New on Ebay for $200 and people bought used ones for more than what I pay for new ones lol. I guess it all depends on wether or not your dealer is a one armed bandit.

Hey Atvman,
got the race motor together. it wont run on anything less than 99 octane. Cessna fuel really turns a 230 into a monster. i am still experimenting but when i find some actual data i will share it with everyone. I have changed some gearing in the tranny and spockets, and today was the first run. i blew a 94 warrior of the road blew past a Blaster like he was sitting still. Taking my 230 to a dyno this week. i figure i am pushing around 75+ horsepower to the rear wheels. which i believe is 3 times stock power rating.
OH and Bashr52 thanks for the carb info. it works beautifully.

Just curious, what have you done to your motor? Mine is smoking a bit and wondered if I can put a 250 head and piston cam in it? Do you know? Also, the kick lever wont stay out. How do you fix that? Thanks.

I tightened the bolt that holds the kick lever in place at the bottom of the lever... and after a while, when it warmed up, it started sticking out! So, I would first make sure that the bolt is tight. Other than that, it might have just been luck for me.

i personally wouldnt run 25x12x9 on the rear of my 230. 22x11x9 or smaller and 23x7x10 are good for gaining front end ground clearance.
And i cant really say as of yet what i did to my motor. i am still tinkering around with it. All i can say is stay away from a stage 3 race grind. as for putting a 250s topend on, well you can do it but i am still using a 230s cylinder with a better head and porting system and valves.
i dont recomend doing anything i have done unless you extend the swing arm out at least 4 inches or a little more.

Plus mud tires look terrible on sport quads!

I know its the volume of the cylinder, but someone was telling me that the 230 crank is a different stroke than the 250, therefore the 230 bottom end with a 250 top end would actually be a 273 or something of the like. I dont know if its B.S. or not... Kinda like putting a 400 crank in a chevy 350, it makes it a 383 stroker.
I think the 250 4wd has a longer stroke with the same piston/wrist pin as the 230.
