Next question, can you put a 250s jug on a 230s bottom? I have found a few cylinders with pistons as well as 250 heads with cams on ebay. What is your thoughts?

You can, but you have to keep in mind the 250 jug is taller due to a longer rod in the 250, so you would lose compression on a 230 with a 250 jug. Taller jug also means longer cam chain. Then the issue of a 68.5mm bore. Where would you find a 68.5mm piston with the smaller 16mm wrist pin? A 250 has a 17mm wrist pin.

To me, the most attractive part of the 250 is the longer and bigger rod. Longer rod = more rpms and bigger = not breaking it. The 230 rod is so weak, that seemingly once you start burning oil and have to re-ring, the motor is junk. It will continually require re-ringing until the rod is fixed.

Oh, and if you get a 250 head, you have to get a 250 exhaust header. Probably worth it though. Why not ask the guy on ebay where the rest of the engine is?

Just wondering where you saw a cylinder and piston on ebay for an lt250s quadsport, I didn't see any and I looked a couple of times. They are all lt250s quadrunners, or thats what they say.
But if your looking for a good cylinder and head for an lt230, this guy has one cheap on ebay with .50 over bore. It says it came off a running engine and it didn't smoke. The piston looks new. The price is $112 or make an offer. Take a look, you could make an offer of $70 and he might counteroffer with like $90 and no thats not my cylinder and head, mine is only .40 over, but .50 would be awesome.

1mm = .040 inches... and .50 is likely in milimeters, therefore .50mm = .020 inches

If your wondering, it will give you 239.75752676625 cc's of power. So it will be about a 240cc engine

My motor just bit it. Instead of rebuilding, maybe I should put something in with a little more power...... and maybe some fuel injection......

holy crap, everyones motor seems to be kickin the bucket. either i got lucky and got a strong motor or maybe it must be the climate here. i just bought a roost boost for my 230 with a AMR monster coil which i think may increse my throttle response by 20% i believe. what kind of fuel do you run? i run around 100 octane and still going strong on the OEM piston.

oh and for the people who have been wondering what a roost boost is. it is and igniton add-on made by Answer. it suposed to boost your spark andmake a 230 more fuel effecient. sounds kinda odd to me, i can ride WOT for hours on a tank of fuel.
