Default ltz50 quad no power

This is a great thread but I am trying to figure out if this is the same as my 1985 lt 50. I cleaned the carb, removed all restrictors. There is no baffle in the muffler. I removed the oil tank and went to premix. Have 125 psi of compression. What to do next? The thing just bogs. Doesnt need to super fast, just want it to climb small hills or pull through the sand.

We are talking about 4 strokes Bornie. You should have no problem finding parts for your two stroke. I know for a fact that dennis kirk has a fmf pipe for a two stroke for $190.

Thanks for responding. If I knew a FMF pipe would make a HUGE difference,.....I might consider spending 200 bucks on it. I am hoping I can cover some other mod options first???? I read about milling .045 off the head, allowing more air in through K&N, using 11 tooth front sprocket, drilling holes in clutch to get it to launch like a stall converter.... I am definetly running on a budget, shoot we only spent 250 bucks on this old machine last spring at a garage sale. I work with some fella's who know motors alot better than I and dont seem to think my muffler is the problem. I cut it open and thorougly cleaned it out and bolted it back together with high temp silicone. It doesnt have a baffle in it anymore. Too much flow maybe?

Unfortunately I dont have much experience with two strokes. But usually when a motor is bogging down, its a carb or ignition issue.

I have the machine at work today...at lunch I am going to try and adjust the throttle needle to see what happens. Next I may try a 70 or 75 main jet. I appreciate the insights.

Hey Bornie, I was going to post a few things to look at but it looks like you're headed in the right direction. If your rejetting and dialing in the carb, it wouldn't be a bad idea to switch to a UNI or K&N airfilter too. That way you will only have to dial in the air fuel flow once. You mentioned that you removed the oil injection and went to premix? You may want to back off the mix ratio. If you're using a synthetic type 2-stroke oil try backing off to 45:1. The plus side of the LTA50 over the LTZ50 is that the head can be bored out to accept a bigger piston. Good luck!

No problem Bornie.

The graphics were about $115 with shipping lowlife. Its brmoffroad.com. Its a little tricky looking at their site. Basically find the samples and they can do any of them in any color you want. Fully customizable. Even your own design for a price! I called them and asked for help with color choice because Im no artist! They suggested a white background so it would blend and not look like a big sticker.

Oh and these stickers are super thick! I expect no problems. Well worth the money.

Well, I tried drilling out the main jet by about .006" and now it gets too much gas. I pulled off the air cleaner cover to let in more air and that didnt help. Crap. I want to pull the cord and here some higher rpm's coming out of that motor. Not sure what my next step is.

So has anyone tried the CT Racing clutch kit? I'm probably going to order one and I'd like to hear some feedback. Is it better than just removing the three rollers?

thanks
