The C.T. pipe is massive. It's about twice the diameter of the stock pipe - but at this point I'm not convinced that it's necessary. I does seem that it should provide some benefit. I'll call C.T. tomorrow and discuss my set up.

Hey brothers!!
First, Eagerjeeper, you really need to get a cdi before doing anything else. Thats the only real way to see a huge improvement. Your setup is probably right! Your new pipe is flowing better and making the motor rev faster. But the rev limit on your stock cdi is so low, that your hitting it even faster now. Trust me, get a cdi then go from there. If I had it all to do over again, I would have got the cdi first!
Second, this morning at camp I had a race between my son and my buddy's son, who is the new owner of Lowlife's 50 that you might have seen pics on here of. The only difference between the two is that his has the CT pipe and mine has just the modified stock exhaust. I put out cones and had them race about 75 feet. They were dead even all 5 times! Then I made the race about 150 feet and my son won every time by almost 2 quad lengths! I couldn't beleive it! So I guess the CT pipe isn't worth the money. But it does sound and look really good.
Im just glad my boy won or else I would be ordering a pipe right now!

That's very interesting.
Have either bikes had the three rollers removed?
Have either bikes been re-jetted?
Does your buddy's bike have the K&N filter set up?
How does your son's bike sound with the exhaust mod?
I'm not interested in more speed. I need more low end torque. They ride on slightly hilly pasture and through some mild gullies. If they keep moving they are fine, but if they stop on an obstacle the bike can't get moving again. My kids are fearless, and they don't need more speed. I have an 80 cc on the way soon for the eight year old. The 5 year old will stick with the 50 for a little while, and when the three year old is able she'll get the 50. The dealer removed the spacer before I picked it up. All six rollers are still in the transmission.
I understand the roller mod, and I'll probably try it after the pipe saga is over. I'm trying to do one mod at a a time so I'll know where the improvements are coming from. I just don't see how a new CDI will help it pull better off the line.
Thanks

Oh it will big time last. The other week we went riding and the cdi for the 90 didn't work would let it rev up for some reason so we put the 50 box back in and man what a difference. Later that day put the 90 box back in and it ran just fine. Not sure what the problem was there but atleast I got a back up spare.

I believe you, but I don't understand it. Do you think the timing is more advanced with the after-market CDI? That's the only thing I can think of.
Which unit are you using?

After all i have done...it still takes off like a slug in the soft sand....once moving it gets around just fine....maybe a bigger rear sprocket now</end quote></div>
What have you done to "The Little Slug"?
I'm thinking a 48 to 50 tooth sprocket should be everyones first mod.

Did the CT pipe and filter,CDI,CT clutch kit.....added wheel spacers to the rear and swapped the rears to the front to make the quad wider
Played with the jetting...and seems like the 75 main works best for my elevation(1,400') also tuning the air/fuel mixture screw helped clean up the throttle response and slight popping it made on throttle release. I heard some carbs had a plug under the idle jet??..i never looked when i swapped it out to the22.5...is it possible i have one in there?
The CT clutch kit rollers seem to weigh about the same as 3 stock rollers..i tried it both ways...3 stock rollers and 6 CT rollers...i couldn't tell the difference.
I tried the various CT springs in the secondary clutch, did not like them..they all seemed to cause to much slippage...and delayed take off way to long to suite our needs...so i put the stock springs in with the CT rollers
