Here is a link to Sprocket Specialist's page for the Z-50.

I just double checked the link for Sprocket Specialist that I posted earlier on this page. That link is for LT 50 with model years through 04. I know they make sprockets for our machine. I would be sure to verify with customer service before ordering. I would hate for someone to have trouble over my bad link.

Thx EagerJeeper....you answered my next question!!
I think the CDI was the best mod....i almost think the pipe hurt my low end?...it has plenty power once your movin...
It also starts with out the choke now....hard to belive it is running rich with a 75main..

Did you notice off the line improvement from the CDI?
I don't think the pipe has helped my low end either - but I'm running stock jets. I'm about to call C.T. in few minutes to see what they recommend.

I just spoke to Alan at C.T. Racing. The prognosis is not good. I'll paraphrase by saying that I was told that no one upgrade will do much. That it requires several mods to make it better, and that the pipe will only provide some benefit.
He also told me that I need the K&N filter for the new jets to work properly. Why don't they write that down somewhere? I wasted a good two hours discovering that by myself.
So I suppose I'll order the filter, keep the pipe, (I don't even know that they would take it back) remove three rollers and install a 48 tooth sprocket.
I'll post again when I have some results. Any comments are welcome.
Thanks
P.S. At least the pipe sounds good.

I wouldn't beleive anything Ct says at this point. I dont see any reason to buy their products. I have not bought one thing from them and mine will beat a 50 with every product they sell on it! Oh yeah, minus their new clutch kit, which Jeff said didnt do anything more than removing the 3 rollers.
Eager, you will definitely notice a difference off the line. Stock, it hits the rev limiter within a few seconds! You have to raise the rev limit! Go buy the k&n from your local checker or autozone and save some cash. Then order a cdi off ebay and save some money. After that decide if you need a sprocket.

Hey Jeff, mine is a slug in the soft sand also. It sucks. But in decent sand it will go anywhere. Im thinking about buying those Skat Trak Exciter's and giving them a try. I have a 75 main jet and 22.5 idle and mine does the need the choke for a minute in the morning before it will idle without it.

Ed,
In soft sand mine is just a slug on take off...my son or myself has to shift there weight forward and rock the quad to get it to move.....once it moves it actually will spin the tires and do pretty good...even making it up some small dunes...he road around with 90cc quads all weekend..and had no problem keeping up..
I just cant help to think that there is somthing else i can do...to get it come out the hole better...
So i will try a larger rear sprocket...and see what that gets me...are you guys buying a new chain too? or just adding some length?

Mine came with a new chain. The new rear sprocket had the same pitch but the sprocket was wider. KingQuad sold me one he didn't need and he had everything I needed with respect to chain and links. He sold me his 43 tooth because he was so pleased with his 48 tooth. I can see why because the 43 tooth made a BIG difference. I'm sure the 48 tooth will make an even BIGGER difference.
I honestly don't understand why most everybody on this forum is so anxious about re-gearing. It's got to be part of the perfect solution. You might lose a little bit on the top end but these things are for five year olds.
A new sprocket is an inexpensive and very effective upgrade.
