I live with a professional seamstress, I want to match the color to the oem suzuki blue and the same texture material. Then I am painting the plastics yellow so its yellow with blue highlights

Talking More Parts

It's like Christmas in June, the parts just keep on coming. This was today's delivery new clutch disks for in-between the friction plates.

Question Help?

I am really concerned about the roughness of this clutch hub, looks like it has grooves and **** in it. This is not going to make my friction plates or fibers on that side wear faster? Should I smoothen it out before installing the new clutch parts?

howdy ....

i just wanted to recap on a few things.... yes you have a 1986 there ref: is here = Motorcycle VIN: Vehicle Identifcation Number
10th didgit in is always your year.

it looks like you found a parts fish/fische already but just incase this is what i use for diagrams on my bikes Dillon Brothers' Suzuki ATV Parts Finder

in 87 they did make a E model with electric start but it didnt replace the S model ... i have a 87 lt230s

as for the crack in the cover.... i would use that epoxy as a very temporary fix, as heat will be your enemy. along with time, moving parts and oils ect. i would get that replaced before doing any serious riding.
some people have the luck, but i see your putting money into it and i wouldnt wanna see it wasted.

my oil drain plug cover cracked.... took it to a few places.... and my father in law ( who is very credible) said he doesnt care what the F anyone says ... if he welded it or if i put poxy/jbweld on it ... it would eventually warp from the heat, then im up **** creek again, end quote lol.
so i just bought a new cover for 20 bucks....

also if you wanna do it right , i would prolly change out that clutch hub as well... those grooves look nasty.

from the pic, and the others you showed, it looks like you would need to replace the hub sleeve, the inner piece to this pic, which is $53 at dillion bros. .... the parts fish site i posted above. although its hard to tell from this pic if thats the outer or inner piece... if its the primary driven gear... thats like $180 bucks

My frame or the # on the spare block?

Thanks for that link!

Yeah the epoxy is just to hold until winter when I rebuild it. Seems strong, all it could do is get ground up and then stuck in my oil filter right?

The covers are on ebay for about $30 for a decent one, moneys tight for a little while.

Darn, I'm guna try and see how smooth I can get it and then compare the friction plate touching it this winter to the others and see if its more worn and then replace the hub sleeve in total (or sell the machine to a dumass)

That inner thin walled piece comes out and its not attached to the outer hub I don't think. I really hate sinking any more into a $60 machine but I want to do things right. I will remove it and then take more photos, see how bad it really is. Thank you!

np. that would be the frame vin .... i dunno if you can check the engine number to get a year...

ya i understand the tightness with the moneys right now lol ... the epoxy should hold up for a bit i wouldthink, if it let loose... i dont think it would hurt anything really.

you may have only payed 60$ for it but its worth more then that, and if you fix it up it will be worth alot more then $60... id fix it up good and keep it nuthin beats ridin

even that hub should hold out i would think .... if moneys tight only thing you can do is slap those parts in and see how she runs for now...

I figure the outside is JB welded up so I dowt it was leaking to begin with.

I want to sell it for a lt250r project the lt250 and lt500 are my all time fav quads ever since I watched my neighbor kick his over when I was a little kid I always wanted one, never used to see any other dank yellow quads with blue on them so even the colors became a growing up favor for me that is why I am painting this 230 yellow and blue This is the only one I have seen with cut fenders and chipping paint and it STILL looks sick:

Exactly but NOT if I am taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back ruining new parts that was my worry.

Oh man that was a nice bike!
Don't get me wrong banshees are sick, but everyone's got them. I like the unique old school "muscle car" of the ATVs (late 80's 2 strokes)

ya ... alot of people have banshee's .... the herd will thin out though lol since they stopped making them in (05 i think it was) thats why i like to make mine unique though lol besides goin fast.

for my next project i soooo wanna stick a gsxr1000 or 800cc snowmobile engine in a banshee frame omg that would be great, and unique.... although it has been done, not by to many though.

ps. one could argue by saying "ya alota people have a banshee, cuz there the bestttt" lmao
