Default No power

Hey all, I bought a z400 that needed a lot of work. So far I have replaced the frame and swing arm, and all new bearings for swing arm and assembly. I have also replaced the wiring harness as the old one was a hot mess. Now that I have the bike back together, I have no power to the starter. The bike has power as the dash lights come on. I suspected that the starter solenoid was bad so i replaced and still no power .If I jump the solenoid the bike will turn over. Fuse is new as well. I'm stumped. The bike Rand great before I tore it down. Any help is appreciated .

Check the negative wire to solenoid, and the thin pos which comes from the start button. I don't know the 400Z, but most Suzukis have an extremely complex lock-out system so it will only start in neutral, could be that not wired right.
