This issue really has nothing to do with the dealer.
Suzuki makes the call on whether or not to tear down your engine...not the dealer.
When something this major comes up, the dealer calls Suzuki first for warranty authorization. The dealer isn't going to tear down a motor without knowing he is going to get paid for it first. Common business sense.
IF your dealer has called Suzuki, your VIN number has already gotten a note for this request in Suzuki's warranty system. If you carry it to another dealer with the same problem, it will once again be rejected.
Get the phone number to the Suzuki Regional Service Rep. Your dealer has to give you this number if you ask for it. No exceptions.
Be rational and explain your situation. You will find that they will resolve your problem although maybe not in the time span you want.
10 days or even 20 days is not a long time to work out a warranty claim on a task as big as this. The manufacturers want to make you happy, but at the same time, they make sure that they aren't being "had". Blame bogus warranty claims from frivelous dealers for this technicality.
Good luck.
