I had a 2000 7.3L. I didn't have the problems you have described for your 1999 model. However, my tranny was crap. I haven't had any major problems with my 2005 6.0 liter (alternator and EGR valve).

 

I have a '01 with the 7.3[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] Like Hoss mentioned, the transmission is crap[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img] (4R100) but rebuilt mine after 138,000 miles[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] Now I am at 173,500 and have had a bad glow plug since last year[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img] ALso had a few other minor issues but for a daily driver[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] I love this PSD[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

I finally had the new stereo put in the PSD after it was stolen[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img] Also had a alarm system and blue tooth system put in it, that way I am not breaking the law anymore[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

That's like my glow plugs[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img] It's $125 to replace only one or just under $500 to replace all of them.
