I spent about an hour on a v2 a year or so ago on a 10 acre dirt course with a long straight away, and left with a feeling of disapointment. The weight of the AC just killied that awsome 633 kawi twin. We raced our Sp800 against our 700 prarire/Twin peaks many, many, many times and the Twin peaks had all it wanted staying even with the sp800 on dirt or grass , the sp800 would actualy take the 700s at or about 45-50mph. There is no way as well tuned and modded as our 700 motors are that a machine lacking over 60cc and gaining about a 100 pounds is going to come close to running even with a sp800. Kawi has there 650twins tuned to start topping out in the low to mid 60s. There are allot of machines on the market that clear 70mph pretty easy, so I am not sure what the v2 can out run in that class. I like the features on the AC, I really do, I just think they need to get Kawi to sell them the 750 twin and get that v2 a little more HP to help deal with all that mass.
My V2 tops out at 71mph
Completely stock?

In low gear, Up till 45mph,i blow away my buddies sp700 in high gear. If im in high, and hes in high, he takes me up to about 60mph, then I pull away. Im just saying that the sp700 wont beat the 650V2. Im probably wrong about the 800, probably because of me thinking to high about my machine, but I know from experienc about the sp700 VS 650V2

My V2 tops out at 71mph
They must have done some fantastic magic form 05 to 06 in terms of gearing, the one I road struggeld with to get close to 60mph, and that 05 was dead headed getting out of the hole as well. There was a night and day differnce in the v2 and my prairire chassis v-twins. A prairie 700 can get to 70+ on pavement with a long enough run but after about 65 mph it takes it a while to get the rest. Then again those prairie's of mine all have CDI's and jet kits, and pipes and are dyno tuned for optimum power. That just amazes me, that an AC with the smaller 633 engine and the extra 100 pounds can do that kind of speed.

I dont know if your saying you dont believe me or what. I know it does 55mph in low gear, and 71 in high. My buddy took it for a run because he was skeptical like you, and he said" thats wierd, to be able to go that fast in low, and to top out higher than my 700 will". Its not an exaggeration, its what it does. I didnt know it was a big deal, i thought they all went that fast.

Actually, the 650V2 weighs 711 lbs dry, and WILL beat the rincon
I 100% beeleive that to be possable with the old 650 Rincon. The old Rincon was noted for being quite the dog so to speak. But from all the reviews I have read, that does not seem to be the case with the new EFI 680 Rincon.

I'm thinking so, because I skimmed through some of the AC stuff and everyone else said something in the mid-60's usually.

You know it can also come down to how you break your machine in. Im one of those drive it like you will in 2 years. I did that with my honda, its a 93, and runs strong. I read if you break it in right, you will have better hp and top end than someone who breaks it in the traditional way

Yep, I know exactly what you mean. That's how I broke the King in and no complaints yet. Even so, sounds like you got a quick oneYou could shock some people if they're feeling cocky and wanna drag you.
