Yeah I dont really like rocky riding....I really dont want to kill my new holeshot hd's, they cost me a pretty penny! I need to get some paddles for my quad and travel out to Glamis...The weather is probably pretty nice out there this time of the year. Maybe I should start saving now....I wonder how long it would take to get there from garden grove...Anyone know?

Exactly, that's why we haven't been there yet, but we want to go this year. It's so far away - that's a lot of gas ($$) in the RV. Actually, the real reason we haven't been out there yet is because of all the stories we hear about how crazy it is. It sounds a little too dangerous with all the drunk teenagers, etc., I hear about. We're afraid it'll be a little too wild for my husband's 13 yr old son. I'm sure he'd like it, but if anything like that got back to his sue-happy mother, my husband could get in trouble. We want to go out there on a weekend we don't have him. I know my 22 yr old son and all his friends love Glamis. I'm not a real big fan of sand, but they love it.

Really? I don't remember Ocotillo being rocky. In fact, that's why my son loves to ride there (because he's on a dirtbike, not a quad) . . . because it's not rocky like El Mirage or Calico. Hmmm, I'll have to check that out if we go this weekend. We get all our flat tires at El Mirage, where it's not only rocky, but they're sharp rocks to boot.

Ocotillo Wells is not that rocky. Maybe around the sides of blowsand but no problem what so ever. My friend and I are going out the 27 or 28. I'v had my Holeshot tires on my ex-350 (which is now my moms) for about 2years and we ride ocotillo 99% of the time, no plugs and 90% tread left.

Just got back from hodge road on the I15. Another enjoyable ride. I think my Rinny is starting to open up a little, got almost 300 miles on it now. I need to start saving up for my 8 spoke Maxxis rims with Bighorns. Think i'll get the dyno-jet kit and another filter first tho, i can do that for $100. Was gonna grab something to eat but i'm thinking i ate so much of the Mohave Desert following my bro' that i'm not hungry!! Shoulda got fries with that! Teebone, looks like a few of us are going to Carnegie next weekend.
Hi everyone, new to this site and ATV'ing. we are in our late 30's just bought 2 polaris 500's been to carnegie for a short bit, and are planning on this Saturday. Wife did not care for it, TOO many bikes. Made her nervous, I am familiar with bikes (first atv) this is her first try at the drivers seat. We will be there approx. 9 and have to leave by 1 (kids have events) but if you don't mind a couple of newbies with utility quads hanging around, we would like to hook up with ya'll (ATV'ERS). We also park to the right (we've only been there twice) for brief periods. We will be in a green dodge dakato quad cab, 12' (exposed) trailer, 2 quads, 1 green, 1 blue. Would be nice to hook up with some folks that could show some newbies the ropes. I like to test the bikes ability from time to time (will have my winch installed tomorrow) so testing will be more worry free.

Anyways, in short, if ya'll can tolerate some beginners we would like to meet ya'll.

Welcome to the forum My plans for the weekend look like they have changed If I make it out there, it will be to just hang out I know BlackandRedwarrior (aka:B&R), Karen, mstr and mywifesquad are going. They will be in the campground(atleast B&R and Karen) Hopefully they will check in before they leave. And you will be able to hook up with them

mstrquad is actually out there already...or he should be. I should be there about 2.25 hrs after I leave Fresno. I'll post up before I leave. I'll be in a '04 white F-150 std. cab short bed. Red "Club ATV West" & white O'NEAL stickers in the back window. Other trucks/trailers will probably also have Club ATV West stickers as well. I'll be sporting my ATV Connection hat as well.

We welcome everyone. Great group of people to ride with.
