warrenty?
#1
I haven't kept up lately around here, so maybe I ve missed this, but how many people have been taken for a ride w/the extended warrenty on their yamaha? I think I'm getting the shaft, of course its about an '01 raptor. After I heard everbodys complaints on second gear going out, I talked it over w/my service manager. He talked me into a $600 warrenty, just my luck, the next month 2nd gear goes out. Talked to him about using '02 tranny parts and making it better, he said its doable, but since they weren't warrenting out '02 gears for '02 gears that I would have to pay the $400 for just the parts. So we do it, less then 1 year later, reverse gear sheared some teeth and damaged the other gears, yamaha says " because they took care of me the first time under good faith, that I'm supposed to pay the $440 labor bill and they'll cover the parts." They make it sound like their doing me a favor. And by the way, this is my wifes bike, its not like I was thrashing on it cause it would't of even lasted me a month.

dude, sounds like ur getting the shaft from your dealer, I dont know what I would do,
but I wouldn't leave till they fixed it since it is under warrenty without having to pay...
doesnt your warrenty cover parts and labor... Call, Email, Yamaha call and email every
atv/dirt magazine and everyone I could think of.. even pickett out in front of dealership..
One of the things I think sux about atv's is most manufactures only offer a 30/60/90 day
warrenty. do they not think their ATV's will last longer. I purchsed the extra warrenty
with my ATV and I think I'd blow a gasket if the dealer refused to fix it unless I payed for
the labor..

This doesn't sound right to me, if I had a quad under warrenty I wouldnt pay for anything. If this is your dealer telling you that you have to pay labor, I would talk to yamaha directly and find out whats going on.
