do u guys read any magazines, a couple years ago there was a guy who put a 1100cc motor in his quad. It was very nice except it spun its tires a lot on the trails. The guy said he would develope something to make that not happen.
Look in any magazines letter section and you may just see a backyard mechanic who put a street bike motor in his quad, and they say they run great. I have seen this at least three times in the magazine that i subsribe to.

I would be scared to death! I don't ride anything that goes fast! ..... COME ON MAN are you kidding there would be a line around the block waiting for this if it was put out, and I would be at the front of it. It would be an awsome machine for all purposes!

There was a bunch of babies earlier, saying this would be too fast and people would kill themselfs.

They're not gonna put a 1000cc streetbike engine in a quad! It would be too heavy, the powerband would be unusable (worse than the banshee) and you wouldn't be able to get any traction at all. Alot of people have done it before and I have talked to a few of them, they say the quads do awesome on the drag strip or on the street but jumping and any type of mx action is out of the question. Dirtwheels even had an article about a quad with a buell streetbike motor and they said the same thing.

I just don't understand y you think you need that much power in a quad.... I come close to maxing out my yfz, and it starts to feel unstable. I can't even imagine how it'd feel w/ a 1000cc motor in it. It's pointless. There'd almost never be an instance where you would be using more than half the potential of the engine.
I foresee that sometime here in the near future they will put a limit on streetbike developers. Since they're already way too fast/powerful as it is.
