The crotch rockets are already limited believe it not. I too doubt Yamaha or anyone else will do something so drastic mainly do to the already all too negative publicity ATV's receive in general. I think a lot of poeple would be quick to buy one to be king of the hill only to find they couldn't handle the power. I see that already all too often.

I never heard a bigger bunch of babies in my life!!!!

"too fast"
"too heavy"
"bad rap"
"insurance issues"

I think the real issue is that you guys (or should I say girls) are too afraid it.

Beautiful, your bike looks great, I wasnt talking about out you thought. I was talking about all the other guys that will be emailing the manufactures NOT to build it. You swear I was talking to a bunch of over protective mothers

What you are referring to is the same thing that I posted two years ago after coming back from a Yamaha Watercraft dealer meeting in late 2001.

The "quad" is referred to within Yamaha as the A1

It is loosely based from the R1 engine in design to keep weight down, but the bottom end uses a dual range transmission with ultra low gearing...but still uses the manual clutch.

The "quad" is neither based on a similar design [Grizzly]...or a Ryno.
It is best described as an all new vehicle that is aimed at industrial use only.

No, I am not smoking crack. This has been in Yamaha's R&D department well before the snowmobile and watercraft versions of this engine were released. Whether or not it has, or ever will, go beyond R&D is mere speculation.

420ex the main reason that the buell quad that dirt wheels tested handled so bad was because it was in what appeared to be a stock polaris espress 300 frame if my memory serves me correctly. I'm sure with all the weight from a street bike motor it could not handle all that great in any frame though.

So when will we see this "A1"?

Pay attention before you go throwing your macho attitude around son. Did I say I wouldn't want one? NO. Did I say I wouldn't ride one? Hell NO. I said I don't think it will happen because of the mainstream ATV haters. I'm here so I'm obviously I'm not one of those. Pleeeaaaase! But I guess you being the biggest, baddest, manliest ATVer alive couldn't relate to logic. If only use girls could be as bad as you. LOL!!!!

.

I rest my case
