Default shifting the yfz 450

Ok here is the thing i am getting a yfz 450 this weekend and am not sure who to shift it ( please don't give me a bunch of BS about you shouldn't get a yfz if you don't know how to shift. i've riden automatics and es shifting quads.) so when you first turn it on it sin nutral do you push the shifter up or down and so on all the way to 5 and then who about on the way down all the way to nutral? thanks

your hold in the clutch(lever on left side) turn the key if its in neutral let out the clutch let it idl and warm up of course then pull in the clutch again and down shift into first gear move up on the tank and let off the clutch as u are pushing the gas get some momentem and let off the clutch totally then when u wanan shift again from 2-5 gear just pull in the clutch shift up one to 2nd gear get on thegas and let the clutch go u dont need to let it out slowly except for first and repeat hwo to get to 2nd thru 5th

neutral on a manual transmission, is between 1st and 2nd. it's just a small click between them, so that you won't hit neutral while shifting (even though sometimes you hit neutral). a clutch is pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it, it will only take a minute to learn how to use it. you will be fine.

You could turn it on in any gera, but with the clutch ingaged. The pattern goes like this:

5
4
3
2
N
1

Hoped that helped. And remember to hold on real tight!
