I'm a freaking idiot
I'm a moron. Well, I was riding my Raptor yesterday, and I try to check the oil ocassionally, but I've been busy lately, so when I have the chance to ride, thats what I did. So anyways, I was riding and my Raptor just locked up. Well, it's extremely low on oil. There was oil on the dipstick, but when I wiped it off and stuck it back in, I didn't get any. I feel like such an idiot because I know better than to do this. So, I was wondering how much you all think this will cost and what you think will need to be done. I don't have time to do it myself, so I will have to have someone else do it. Thanks for your input. Signing off, the idiot.

do u have an oil leak or something...it doesnt seem like oil should get completely empty that fast. as far as prices...i dunno, depends what is locked. a new piston should be under 100, but not sure. labor is gonna be a killer, but now is a chance to put a bigger bore in it!

ha, where do you think you get a piston for under $100, its not a 2 stroke. raptor pistons range from MINIMUM $150 upwards of $400.
you'll need piston
cyclinder bored and honed
and new top gaskets.
if you happy with the perfomance of your raptor just do teh above listed, other
change teh cams and port the head.

Ok, that's what I was thinking. But, how long should this take. I had one guy quote me less than 2 hours, 2 hours tops, and one guy quote me 7-12 hours. Of course, the prices quoted would be different too. So, how long should I expect it to take, and is the one dealer gonna sucker me into thinking I'm getting a good deal, then screw me over? Thanks

Yeah I'd definately find the oil leak first. If you dont and you get your topend rebuilt. The samething will just happen over and over again. Maybe if you pour some oil in there you will see where the leak is? Not sure, but definatley make sure where your oil leak is before you put it back together.
