Warrior runs rough at idle, good above idle?
When I bought my 2000 warrior the seller said he thought the fuel was old and should be replaced. It didn't smell sour, but to be safe we emptied the tank and filled it with chevron gas. All I have done so far is to install a new spark plug, even though the old one looked good and tan.
Any ideas on why it would run rough at idle but run good driving it? I would assume if it were a gummed up carb it would sputter at ride rpm's. This is a stock bike.
Thanks
Allen

yes there is a manual on this forum for the warrior. there are ones for all Yamaha quads. just look for it, i found it and it is in PDF format. i think it is about 45megs so good size, hope you have a high speed internet connection. i am sorry i forgot who posted it, but they had a link to there site and there is where i found it.

0 to 1/8 throttle is controlled by the pilot jet and screw. You are either too rich or too lean on the adjustment.
Turn it all the way in and then out 2 turns - this is your reference point.
With the engine warmed up turn it in until it idles rough (make a note) then turn it out until is smoothes out and keep turning it out until it runs rough again (make a note). Then you split the difference between the two rough running point settings (two notes) and that is your correct setting.
