Hello I’m new to this forum, I have a 86 yfm225 and when I got it I used starting fluid to see if it’ll start and it ran for maybe 20 seconds and then I shut it off to work on it but now that I have the carb clean and everything ready to ride it’s now not wanting to even run timing is perfect valves are adjusted and has fuel air compression, any idea of why will help I’m not too good with four wheelers so maybe I missed something…

 

Check it still has a spark. Fit a new plug anyway, or the old one if it hasn't fired up on a new plug you have fitted. Double check the carb has been put back together correctly and that fuel is getting to the float chamber. Check the inlet manifold for cracks, Yams are prone to this, and they are most likely to crack while you have been working on the carb.

 

Ok I appreciate it, I’ll keep you updated if I get it running I was going to get a new carb anyways it’s kinda old.

 

Update: It runs I drove it a couple times and it’s idling but it does need a new carb this carb is old and it’s bogging but thanks for the help I appreciate it.
