I'm trying to determine the weight of these tires (I dont have either and have not called the mfg..). The Dirt Wheels tire show-down (Oct 01) says the Bandits are the heaviest but give no details. I want to compare the Bandit X/C 22X10X10 to the Holeshot XCT 22X11X10 tires. From what I can tell, these are the two toughest tires out there ( I ride in the desert - no mud) and the price is very similar so weight might be the deciding factor. Any thoughts before I flip a coin and place an order ?

Thanks, Eric

If you are racing, the holeshots or turf tamers are the best tires, as they have the best hook up. If you are looking for a 'tough' tire, which lasts, the Bandits fit the bill. They may not hook up quite like a holeshot, but they are tough. We ride in some muddy areas, and they are not the best tire for our terrain. So, it took the resident maniac in our group a whole summer of burning them off on pavement (Literal smoke shows...), in order to beat them up. Holeshots wear pretty fast.

CALD650,

Good to hear from someone familiar with our area ! Thanks for the info. Nomads usually kicks my a$$ so I stick to the desert riding and dunes. I'm getting ready for a Whiplash race down in Rocky Point, Mexico and it's mostly sandy stuff. Sounds like the Holeshots are the way to go.

See ya, Eric

Glad to be of some help. Nomads kick my butt too. I did win my only 1st place MX race there. The second MX race I crash and burned on a double tabletop. I was luck to be able to walk a way and gave up MX racing. All I due now is trail ride and surf the dunes at Glamis.

Remember, the advertised 22" height of the Bandit is actually about 20.5". Not sure about the weight......I would have the see for myself that the Bandit is actually heavier since the holeshot is a larger tire.

garyc660r,

Do you know if the Holeshots truly 22" tall ? The reason I want 22" tires is to gain more ground clearance.

Thanks
