DVX 250 Rear Axel lock nuts

DVX 250 Rear Axel lock nuts
Purchased a used 2006 DVX 250 about 1.5 years ago and am having a hard time finding repair notes for some of the parts that generally need to be replaced on a 10 year old ATV. Seems like it was ridden much harder then the previous owner stated. The service/repair manual I received with it is absolutely horrendous!!! It is so vague and does not give any specs for important steps in the repair process.
I am trying to remove the rear axel to replace the bearings and carrier. However, the axel lock nuts are on so damn tight it is ridiculous! I have tried heating them and spraying with liquid wrench but still no luck.
First question. I'm assuming the threads are lefty loosy and righty tighty.
Can anyone confirm this? Would hate to think I'm turning in the wrong direction.
Also, has anyone tried removing it from the other side with the sprocket. I want to try it but am concerned about bending the sprocket.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Get a manual or do a search...there should be something that tells you the thread direction and I'd find that out before going further...
I bought LARGE wrenches for this very task...a large pipe wrench will also work but you run the risk of booger'd up nuts.
A large dead blow hammer was my friend...combined with the long large wrenches always worked for me (lots of leverage)...

Looks like standard thread...at least that's what my research showed...many used lots of heat!!!
AC sells a special tool...if you look at it, it's the same as I described above...basically a very large (long) wrench...
Trick is to keep everything from not spinning...that's why a 2nd long wrench comes in & can be used as a pry against the floor...

Not to mention a few, for safety concerns, was just easier to get the Dremmel out and carefully cut them off...they're cheap enough to replace...
