Hi All

Here's the news. The info regarding the carb was spot on, the problem seems to have been a sticky float.

The leaking brake fluid, problem has turned out to be quite interesting. After much searching I could not establish quite where the leak was coming from. I did notice however that one of the break pads was very low, almost gone. As a result the thing (don't know the technical term) that pushes the break pad was travelling too far, and the fluid was spilling.

What is far more intersting however, is why the break pad was so low (the quad is only a few weeks old, and has not done many miles). As I was putting the break assembly back I noticed that the break disk itself was loose... The root cause of all the problems is a broken bearing on the right hand side of the rear axel. Does anyone know is the rear wheel assembly one complete unit, with the bearings etc. as I can't see how remove the bearing, or how to get the rear drive shaft from the assembly, any words of wisdom would be apreciated.

Once again any help would be great. To further complicate things, I bought the Quad from the UK, off the internet, I have just mailed the guy who sold it to me, it will be interesting to see what response I get. The next problem I face is that I have no idea where I can get parts...
Oh the joys.

Hi DecDug,
I am not sure about the bearings and how they come apart... one problem I had with my quad was that the thing did not come with any spacers for the rear axle, and because of that my bearings appeared to be loose also, but it was because the spacers weren't there and the axle was somewhat free to move, as were the sprocket and brake disc... if the sprocket spindle or brake disc spindle is not in place correctly (pushed all the way in toward the bearing housing), the shaft feels loose. I manufactured some spacers myself from 1" PVC pipe cut to length, and that solved the problem without having to replace bearings. Not sure if that might apply to your situation or not.

As far as parts, I live in the USA (it sounds like you might live in the UK?)... but I had no problems with getting parts from the USA website:

http://www.winspeedmotor.com/

The order I placed took about 6 weeks, unfortunately, but it worked well, and they did not charge high prices for the parts like other companies do. The prices were VERY reasonable!

Good luck,
Joe Franklin

One of the things that I have done to my wifes quad is to replace the stock wheel bearings with high quality replacements. I bought them off of e-bay very reasonably, want to say under 35.00 for the 2 in the rear axle and the 4 for the front wheels. Not to tough to get to just remove both rear hubs, the part with the cotter pin, slide off hubs and spacers then off comes the disc and sprocket, a good time to update the bolts in them too. Cant remember which side the axle came out from, but it did pull out easily. I will try to add to this later, possibly monday. My son is getting married today and my time is very limited. Hope this helps a little, the bearing # is 6006-2RS, you will need two. Good luck!! MWQ.

You Should have sent that 110 back and requested they send the correct machine. I ordered from Yamoto and got a damaged machine and the instantly sent me another one to replace it, before I sent the one damaged in shipping back. I'm sure that they would have accepted it, if you had not assembled it and rode it. I know that the 110cc Yamoto is the same engine as the 70cc Yamoto, only bored bigger, so I don't think you can modify it much to go faster. Simply sell that 110cc as slightly used, and then check back with me for a price on a bigger Yamoto. They are coming out with a 200cc Raptor style machine within a couple months, it will be the same as the 150cc only with reverse and a bigger bore, for us bigger guys. For now I'll be riding the 150cc Yamoto! Hey! I can't complain for the price. I loved the value so much,
does anyone know when this 200 comes on the market? i read this complete topic and from you replies i geuss the 150 is to small for me (17 yo, 170lbs 6"3)

thx for this awesome topic about the 150 since i wanted to buy one
