It seems fairly vulnerable to me and I have read of problems with similar designs on other chinese quad's. The wifes quad will be used this weekend and it should be pretty wet. The princess doesnt like water much, so the quad will see as little as possible.

I "borrowed" these cause I thought they were cool. The first one shows
the engine pretty much mostly under water! Wow, I thought the clutch would
slip being that wet! the water is over the rear tires (22")
thats the fenders sticking above the water.

Over the weekend I was at my local ktm dealer and spotted a UNI Pod filter. It is part # UP-4152 Pod Filter. It has a 1.5" rubber flange and the filter is 4" long. It looks like I can mount it in the stock airbox fairly easily. I have made a 1.5" tube to adapt it to the yamoto. I will install it tonight and let you know how it worked out. I am planning on cutting some round holes in the side of the stock airbox to improve breathing while protecting the filter a little.

Messed around with the uni filter a little last nite. not to sure about using the stock air box anymore. Will finish it up tonight and let you know what I end up doing.
