I gotta look at a outboard motor closer. Does it have low speed and high speed tuning screws? My lawn trimmer has a high a low speed screw.. Oh yah and on 2 strokes its a air screw...(for idle/low speed tuning).

Your more than likely right...its a attempt to please the emissions folks..I want to buy a carb and remove the plug...I wonder if there is s screw under it or a preset needle type valve?

Gotta be something under that plug/cap. Mine runs so good I just don't have the need to touch it. Worst case scenario, the replacement carb in the pic I posted above is $30. That one shows the mixture screw. Who knows if that's what you'd get though.

In the outboard world single carb motors have mixture screws, multi carb motors have fixed orifices.

That what Im thinking.. Id try and remove the plug if needed... If yours is going good I would tn touch it either..What elivation do you run your quads at 110CC?

Thats part of the adventure with Chinese quads...Heck Ive been in China trying to get the right parts in the container...amazing how many clutches they make for the 90/110/125cc engines..

Thanks nimadd! That clears it up a bit for me...I had just wandered down to a guy who fixes lawnmowers, motorcycles, atv's etc(near my shop)...He had a single cyl out board and it had 2 mixture screws..

..

I'm at about 1100ft above sea level.

In regards to the mixture deal with outboards, snowmobiles and the likes, yes those babies can sure be sensitive. I've seen the aftermath of a multi cylinder snowmobile or 2 that leaned out too far at WOT. Meltdown!

I was thinking you might be at 3k or so...(only because yours runs so well)

2 strokes are much more sensitive then 4 strokes are. Easy to melt a 2 stroke..4 strokes are much more forgiving..gotta be because about 95% of them are lean from the factory.. And Im not just talking Chinese stuff.. All of my Honda thumpers run much better and warm up faster with larger jets... Most 2 strokes are jetted rich from the factory to keep tham alive longer..

I would change the oil before even starting the engine... The oil from China cant be that good...
How much oil do I put in?

The Taotao 110's hold just under 3/4 of a quart. The ID plate on the front will spec 15w40 motor oil. I had some Napa Fleet 15w40 on hand so that's what I put in mine on it's first oil change.
