2005 carb

2005 carb
In general a larger bore carb hurts low end and adds higher rpm horsepower. However a dyaphram/slide type carb tends to negate the low end power loss and changes nonr of the high rpm horsepower gains. So I would guess more top end. However I looked up both carbs in the parts list and the part numbers are different, but they both are CVK-34 carbs with different suffix numbers. This means the same size carb, 34mm bore, with different features and jetting.

Mike, Did some further research. The 2004 400 with the ACT(solid rear axle) had a CVK-32 carb. The 2004 FIS 400 have the CVK-34 carb. As far as I can tell the 2005 ACT and the FIS both has the same small carb this year, but it is not very clear in the parts book. Then again they could have put a CVK-34 carb on the ACT and somebody is telling the truth, sort of, maybe, but not really.
