i'm going to race this next spring as well. i've only found a little MX stuff for quads up here in washington state. the one place that does race quads does not have doubles or triples, just tabletops & std jumps. one section is part of a flat track, so the track is very fast. from what i've been told, all quads are currently in the same class, since they don't have enough people showing up to seperate into classes yet. i was wondering what else i need to make my machine ready? what more do i need to make my setup work well on this type of track?

my quad is a '91 suzuki LT250r

engine performance mods: K&N filter, fmf pipe & silencer, cool head soon.

suspension setup:
rear: stock shock, durable X-33, rad mfg carrier w/ taperd bearings, e-brake blocked off... stock gearing, & 22x11x10 dico fast trekkers

front: will be putting on +2 A-arms, dual-rate works shocks w/ reserviors. stock tires for now

controls: KX clutch lever, will have tether kill switch, maybe pro-tapers soon

chassis: nerfs, any kind i can find for cheap, foot-peg extenders

Iam familiar with the hannegan series you have mentioned. After careful consideration and lots of investigation the best way to get your 91 LT250 ready for that series or anyother race. Would be to unscrew your gas cap off of your suzuki and slip a Honda 250r in its place and put the cap back on . If the cap will not work on the Honda 250R, I would throw that away to and get the proper one for the Honda 250r your new quad.

Well I would recommend riding it how it is for a few races. See where you are strong at, see where you need some help. See if the other quads beat you down the straights, out of the corners, whatever. If you can't corner as fast as some, practice about all, but get the right tires, get wider a-arms, axle, swingarm. If they beat you in straights, get motor mods. Just get a few races under you so you can feel what you need help in, then go out and buy. No use in wasting money on stuff you don't need yet.

I would eventually invest in rear beadlocks. They help keep your rear tire from rolling off your rims going through a sweeper. Especially if your fast in the corners.

rad-r

you need to stop polishing those things & ride.

my zuk stays up with any of yours & you KNOW it... i have thought about getting a honda... to blow-up on a regular basis(i.e. jim)... but prefer not to at this time.

just remember... i haven't even started to milk hp out of mine yet, all i have for power mods is bolt-ons... maybe i'll have LRD help me out later.... and i'll do it for less $$$. for now i just want to ride, have fun & see what racing's like.

what are ya afraid of?.... a zuk beating ya? it might hurt that honda pride.... naw, never!

while i'm here, i must also congradulate your son. i heard he won a flat track race at evergreen... oh yeah, he was on a zuk too, right? hmmm...
