First ATV???? What about the Coot, Pengun, Terra Cat, etc,, etc,,, there were about 100 diff brands in late sixties & early 70's , & I can't remember what was out in the 60's, even I'm not that old! & don't consider the Bomby a new upcomer, this company makes Trains & jets & I don't know what all.

Oh and the first ATV was made in the Early 80s I can't remember exactly the date was when Suzuki Founded it. There was no such thing as a Fourwheeler in the 60s and 70s, i dont know where you got your information from but its wrong

Hello
If you want to know more about real atvīs (and most of them were build in 60s and 70s, and some still be build) you should take a look at www.route6x6.com there are many of them. Most with 6 wheels some like coot and penguin with 4 wheels and all of them ampibious.
I think atv is not the corect name for a motorcycle with four wheels (quad), cause they canīt drive in "all terrain".
Some quads still have two wheeldrive and most of them have real problems with deep mud and snow not to talk about deep water. (i have a few very nice pictures of a atvs pulling quads out of mud, let me knew if you want some) Also quadīs seems to be more like bikes then vehicles the seat and the steering for example.
If you see it like me atvīs were build since 60s but you were right with quadīs build since 80s.
