wow, this sounds awesome. Everbody bring your cones as we will need to block off a big area for all the people and some cones to mark off the small track. What we need to do it get the kids out there on their baby quads going round and round on the track and in no time we will have the berms ready to go and they have fun too. I am willing to help on some stuff. Sean

We’ve got updates!
We’ve added some new sponsors and links. As well as a mention for a kiddie riding area, and the possibility of prizes. Lastly, we added two events, and a link to a lodging page. I posted the info for the Holiday Inn in Fallon, but if we could get some more info on the camping/facilities or any other hotels, restaurants, gas stations etc so we could post it that would be great.
I like the idea of the ‘organizational committee’ or whatever you want to call it, we need some set person or persons to be ‘in charge.’
Setting up some sort of charity is a good way to make friends with the locals, and maybe help someone in need in the process. I’d be willing to pay an extra couple of bucks for the T-Shirts (not just one) to donate to the fund. Oh, and I either need XXL or XLT, but XXL is much easier to come by.
If we get this thing sewed up soon, we could have someone do as DemonDS suggested and write to the magazines letting them know of the event. I’ve seen them post info about similar events, and of course they (and any other similar organizations hint: ATVing.com) would be welcome to cover the event or more.
This weekend I plan to post the pictures kindly taken and sent to me by TheFasterTheBetter. That way anyone thinking of going can get a look at Sand mountain, as well as the attraction midway there from Fallon.
I heard there might be a need for people to jump in and help cook for the BBQ event Saturday night, and if we have something for Sunday Lunch then we’ll need all that and more. Are we going to need BBQs or anything like that? I don’t think my BBQ would be so good for this size of event.
MarkyNark, you should just change your plans now, you’re going to get the fever and change your plans at some point, may as well plan for the inevitable.
Knutz laid out an excellent schedule of events, as of now, I’ll post that on the web site, but keep in mind it is easily changed as needed. I also have to agree with Knutz on the alcohol issue, anyone who wants to do that sort of thing can do it, but it wont be an ‘official unofficial’ event.
It sounds like we’ll have enough info to start making PDFs by the end of the weekend, so all of you guys and/or gals who can make a PDF, go ahead and make your own version as soon as the info is online. Then we’ll pick a couple of the best ones, and we’ll get those flyers out into the local shops.

Knutz...you the man...that schedule looks Great!! It does not matter to me when you want to do the BBQ..I am just here to offer help and support any way I can. I think the donation thing would be great. There was an article about Fallon and the children last weekend in the local paper...it is quite a tragedy what they are dealing with. As I mentioned to Blackhawk, any Signs or Banners the group needs for the event, I am willing to donate. Will the "poker run" be just around Sand Mountain or in the desert across the highway??

I think the poker run should be just in the dunes, like a complete trip all the way around the mountain. That way we wont all have to change paddles to dirt tired, then back to paddles. imagive 75 bikes up on rims changing tires, lol, that would be a site to behold, kinda like a pit stop in the poker run, see who can do it fast enough, that would be pretty cool. I will be bringing our foos ball table so we can have some fun with that too, our last trip to glamis i took it and it was a great hit with everybody. Sean

Hey guys- I want to come and play! Maybe i can paint my raptor yellow, blend right in with the rest of you. Add a little water, make it grow up.
BiggerISbettter- maybe i can hitch a ride! my raptor does not take up much room.
Would like to see Jeff's, knutz, blackds rides!

The poker run is going to be a DS thing due to the need for a permit, but anyone that particapates in the clean up is welcome to join it. Jon[croleyoffroad] and I discussed that. I think he and his folks are going to organize that for us. That's the one "joint" event, just to avoid them needing to get a permit for one event. I think the plan is to keep it in the sand, but locals like Jon are going to have the say on that.
Other bikes are welcome to come, but the competitions will be stricktly DS. That is unless the turn out is really low, but I doubt it will be. The picture will be a DS only thing as well. The trail rides are open to all, and I think the BBQ will be DS riders and there invited guests only[the sponsors can't feed the entire place].
Quadzillathon welcomed other bikes, but there were only 20-30 LT's there. I think were going to blow that away.

Since we're looking at doing something for charity, let's see if we can go all out. Why not see about a giant raffle.... Let's really try to get Bombardier involved (great PR for them) and donate a DS650 Baja as a grand prize then maybe we can get other manufacturers involved too... set of tires and wheels, exhaust , shocks, etc. Sell a limited number of tickets at $10 or $25 and be able to hand over a check for $10,000 or better. Who wouldn't spend that kind of money on a chance for great prizes and help children with leukemia in the process. I've never run a raffle like this, but am more than willing to make the phone calls to try to line up prizes. ATV'ers doing something great...wouldn't that be a switch in the news!
