anyone got a lift kit on 650 prairie
Yeah I just put an 1 1/4" lift on mine because I was told I was going to need it for the 28" tires I was putting on. It makes a diffirence in the ground clearance in front and in the middle about 1" diffirence. I still hit my rear diff from time to time, the tires helped more than anything. Weather I needed it for the tires is another question, but I like to ride alot and right now we have over a foot and 1/2 of snow in the mountains and I need all the ground clearance I can get.

I just took off a set of 28x10x12 super swampers from my 650 and never had a problem with tire clearance without a lift kit. I took the swampers off and went to 26" 10x12 mudlites to reduce the weigat at the axles. Dropped 15 lbs per corner by doing this. I went back with a 2" lift kit from High Lifter to maintain the ground clearance and have no regrets in doing so. But to answer your question you will not need a lift kit for tire clearance.

To tell you the truth my P650 with an 1 1/4 lift and the 28" tires looks what it should have looked like from the factory. It's not obnoxious like some I have seen in some ads, it just looks good. Looking at ones with the stock tires and without the lift look small to me now. I added some weight by going to the taller 3ply but man oh man was it worth it.

I have the 1 1/4 in. lift and I love it. If you had to file it to make it fit , it was the wrong one. There are different kits for 02 & 03 Prairies, most sites that sell them do not list both part numbers. Go to the Highlifter site for the part numbers.
