Default 800cc problem

Fullthrottle,

keep in mind this is the internet. It's too easy to take a persons posts the wrong way without being there, talking to them in person and hearing their tone of voice or seeing their expressions. If someone really wanted to rip on you, you'll know it.

Hope you enjoy that kit from Mickey. Makes me want to modify the DS to get more out of it.

Default 800cc problem

Well.... I finaly got to put some hard miles on my newer 750... 65* temp out side ( it had always been colder than that before, I don't know if thats why I never had a problem before or not )... I got oil in the filterbox... very little, but enough to cause an oil ingested stumble at WOT ( perhaps 1-2 ounces )... this week I'll remove the crank case vent from the filter box, & extend the vent tube to the handle bar stem...

I've thought about about a set up with a breather filter, & 2 T's, & 2 PVC valves... & a vented loop, with one PVC valve backwards, so that the oil could drain back, after the pressure is low enough to allow the valve to open & drain back ???

Hope not to have the problem, but I would think a small catch can, like Mickey described would work.

I would think if you "Y" the line coming out of the crankcase, and run two lines up to the catch can, one straight and one with a low spot in it. From the catch can to the carb box you would only have one line.

Inside the catch can put a few baffels, so the air going to the breather has to bend, (seperate the oil from the air). that seperated oil could go to a low spot in the catch can and run back down to the crankcase by way of the second line with the low spot in it.

The low spot would work like your trap in your sink. there would always be oil in it, so when pressure was build up in the crankcase, the pressure would be forced to go up the unrestricted line.

My though for the day...lol

because I didn't have this problem before, I'm assuming it's not the rings, & probably related to higher rpm splashing of oil ( now that it is warmer outside, that previous top speed runs )... ( it appeared to be splattered around in my filterbox, rather than pumped out of the vent tube )... it probably splattered 1-2 tablespoons of oil into the filter box, after about a 1/2 hour of top speed riding...

All ring have blow by, I would think if the stock guys are having problems, then the higher comp pistons would have more.

I agree Mike, with the extra power, there probably a lot more splashing of oil.
