Default prairie 360 vs. rancher 420

is the 2500lbs best around or for few bucks more get the 3K? That jsut may be over kill but may make it last longer as it will be under loaded. there all with in $30 of each other. Thanks again Jordan

I can't say if the 2500 is the best or not. I know my 2500# works fine. Sounds like the 2000# works just as good also. If you are willing to spend the extra $30 between each size that is up to you. I would tend to agree with you how it may last longer because it will be under less load. I think, but I am not certain, that the higher the poundage, the faster the spool also.
I got the 2500 because it was in the middle.

I bought my Prairie360 4x4 new in 2004 and have not had a single problem with it. I use it to plow snow and I trail ride with it. I'm pretty rough on it and it has time and time again impressed me. I was nervous about buying a 360 since I'm 6' 225lbs, but that's what my buget allowed and i don't regret it one bit. The diff lock is awesome and has got me out of some sticky situations. The only thing I do is the normal maintenance. I paid around $5000 or a little less out the door.

I bought the 2Konly because I want a quick buy for low bucks. I was oging away on a 4x4 trip and needed it.
If I had to do over, probably go the 2500 route, but I have no regrets so far...
