Hey all

for those interested I took some pics of the skidplates on my P650. The skidplates are made by Metaltech and are the ones you can buy from buykawaski.com

They are are aluminum and as far as I can tell so far very tuff. I have nailed rocks so hard before that I thought for sure I put a hole right through the frame, but when I look for damage everything looks fine. They are pretty expensive and the middle one was a pain to put on, but very worth it in the long run.

Heres the link

Hope u all like =)

Looks great! I'd be interested to see if they hold mud under your engine or around your cv boots worse than stock. I'd like to get some but I'm curious about this. Let me know what your experience is with them. Thanks.

I have had these skidplates on my P650 for about a year now. I put them on a few weeks after I bought my P650. Actually I had all skidplates except the cv guards untill recently. I bought the cv guards about a month ago.

As far as I can tell they hold mud and stuff about the same as the stock ones maybe less though cuze they don't have all the holes in the plates like the stock ones. I'm happy with them although the middle skid plate was a bitch to put on. I had to file 2 of the holes cuze they didn't line up perfect. Nothing a round file couldn't take care of... =)

I have a tendency to think that the uninteruppted plate below the oil filter would help get through muddy stuff (slide over stuff easier). The stock plates have a lot of edges to catch on. But fewer holes might also work against you if you happen to get stuck? Any oppinions?

I also noticed that I was not as choosy when shopping for a digital camera. My kodak camera tends to fuz anything that is too bright, and images aren't sharp. I don't like the picture quality, even at 1760x1168, it just give me more dots but still doesn't look great. Lackdog what kinda camera is it?

Maybe I will auction the kodak camera on ebay.

Hey NYROC,

I agree with you on the uninterupted skidplate. The stock skidplates have to many uneven edges and holes.

About the camera. It's a Fujifilm MX 1200

Massive review on this camera

Max resolution is 1280x960, go to that link above to get a silly amount of info on that camera. It's a couple of years old now and it works good. I paid 300 for it and I think they have newer models that are better than it now. eBay is a great place to buy new camera and you can probally find one a lot cheaper than in the stores. The only thing I don't like about the camera is it eats batteries and if you take a far away pic its blurry. I take the pics at 640x480 so i can take more (over 350 pics with a 64 meg card) maybe thats why it blurs the pics. the pics of the skidplates I took at 1280x960 and resized down to 640x480. That makes them look crisp. I would take all atv trip pics at the higher res and resize them and they wouldl look good even at a distance, but then i owuld only be able to take 99 pics. The far away shots at 640x480 might not be the greatest, but i can take 300+ pics and they still look pretty good. It also has a macro feature on the camera that takes closeup (4 inches or closer) and you would be amazed at the detail. Anyway, that link will tell u everything u need to know about my camera. Fuji seems to make great cameras and I know i will buy a Fuji for my next one.
