TRX450, are you talking about scotchbrite pad as used in body work? If so, been wonderin about that myself. Won't keep out water, but may help with other contaminants, mud, rocks, woodland creatures.

Wow! $31.95 for a set of front pads. Thanks for the info PrairiePuppy. Your rear brakes are supposed to go quite a while (6000mi) without needing service, I don't think there is a big market for the 650 rear brake parts yet.
We never talk about the rear brakes. If only everything in life was as good as the rear brakes on the 650. Like this forum, if it were as good as the 650 rear brakes, it wouldn't be down for scheduled maintenance, unscheduled maintenance, or unexplained unresponsiveness.

Don't use scotchbrite or similiar material for the clutch inlet if anything use panty hose with K&N dressing this works very well. Or if you have already put in aftermarket air filter use parts of the old filter with K&N filter dressing, I prefer this material. With the scotchbrite it is too stiff and will allow too large a micron of dirt to invade your unit. Not to mention if the scotchbrite falls into the clutch this material can do some terrible damage to your aluminum clutch.

P.P---- Don't you mean $31.95 PER SIDE? $64.00 TOTAL for a complete set of pads?
Alltoys--- Yeah, that's it, ScotchBrite pads.
This winter, I will try to experiment with re-lining my own pads. I have a freind with a PULLaris that does it, he's had some success.

Alltoys; Tried pantyhose already and they won't live. Wife must be buyin the cheap ones again. The original air filter, as you say is what I'm working with now. Don't have a way of mounting it that suits me yet.
