Phoenix review.

Some updates on our Phoenix. We are still very pleased with this little machine. Some of the things that were problems have been fixed.
1. The getting in and out of gear has gotten betters since changing to Polaris AGL tranny fluid. It originally came with 80/90w gear oil in it. I can't say it's 100% cured, but it is much better.
2. The backfiring that was occuring that I thought was being too rich, really is the rev limiter. It is set up to rev limit on decelleration until it hits 2500 rpm. Due to poor adjustment on the ETC, the throttle switch was engaging it too early. A small adjustment there and the backfiring is gone.
3. Polaris just sent me a new spark plug to correct problems with rough idle and hard starts. I have not had any real trouble there, but will be more than willing to try the new plug.
4. I think it's from wheelieing and a roll over, but the rear axle vent seems to puke gear oil every once in a while. Again it's probably my fault, but I'm keeping an eye on it just in case.

Hello Fishslab,
Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents on the Phoenix, I took delivery of #0000527 in January. I had my major issues at first and since then it has been sunk, flipped, rolled and bent beyond repair. I actually made a custom snorkel by venting the intake through the drivebelt housing (I'll send pics if you want)
This thing is unstoppable for the price. I also did get a plug from Polaris and the one I took out was black as heck (any idea on how to fix a rich mix??) I solved the backfiring issue by bending the tab in the accel housing. Latest issue is the oil breather keeps rubbing the frame and the hose split (again) so I ordered the new hose and have to figure a way to prevent it from splitting again.....

hi i saw your comments on polaris pheonix 200. i have one and i have modified the cdi box by buying one to limit the rev from 8500 to 10000. and my bike got faster from 60km to little bit more than 70km. also i have changed the silencer to a sports one and finally the tyres from 20x10-9 to 22x10-9. but i still have problems with backfiring and now with the new tyres acceleration is a bit slow but good. can you help me out making my bike better???
