I had the maroon in my primary I really could not tell much difference between it and HC white. but also I am in COLORADO and ride from 7000ft on up to 14,000ft. So what happens here don't mean it will act same for you FLATLANDERS. I had 25 inch tires on my 2002 700 changed over to 27 inch BIG HORNS and havn,t changed a thing in the clutch that has a HC.
A kit is personal preference, but for me I have ran them since 2002 in my 700 and 2000 in my 500. I wouldn't be without one, they improve belt grab they improve EBS operation plus you will use low far less you will still need it just far less of the time. The best place on the NET for HC info is ATVQUADSQUAD.com there is a ton or reading there and CAJUN is good at giving advice.

Outback31, did you only change the rear tires to a smaller size??? If you did only the rears, you may have trouble with your AWD working properly. Your 07 800 has 26 inch stock on the front right?? Now you have 25 inch on the rear. MAY lead to some trouble. As far as clutch kits goes, I have a EPI on my 02 500HO and like it alot. Epi has already done all the testing for you.

With a HC you will not lose any TOP END there is no reason to. With other kits as they rely on changing the helix and raiseing the engagement yes you will suffer on the other end. RECALL ROB PETER to PAY PAUL. Any time that belt is slipping you are loseing power, plus you are setting yourself up for disaster. Heat softens the rubber in the belt and when that happens it begins to lose it's ability to grab and hold on. The more ability it loses the more slipping you have, the more slipping the more heat. The heat can become enough to crack your sheaves and will cause the belt to self distruct. If that alone isn't enough to justify a kit then nothing will. There are many happy kit owners of all brands out there they can't all be wrong.
