"IF" it's an internal carb problem, don't expect Sea-foam,Stabil,etc to do that good of a job,may not always work.. The best way to clean a carb is the old fashioned way, physically clean it up.Use Sea-foam,Stabil as a preservative. This carb is similar to yours. The BST-40 Bible - ADVrider Plus if you don't have a service manual, get one! Will pay for itself quick if you plan on doing your own maintenance and repairs.
Plus this free 2009 500 pdf service manual has the same carb and many of the same parts as yours to use as a reference. PartShark.com - Motorcycle Parts, ATV Parts, UTV Parts, PWC Parts, Powersports Apparel, Motorcycle Accessories for OEM and Aftermarket.

Sounds like... you probably should listen to OPT. Take the carb off, and clean it. With the ethanol infused fuel that has been forced on us, we have to constantly clean the carbs. Once clean you should try to find some filling stations that sell ethanol-free gasoline. The ethanol gas creates havoc on fuel lines, fuel filters, and carbs.
