Now my question is stick with the needle bearings or go with ball bearings on each side from a bearing shop along with a new bolt that isn't hallow in the middle?

Thought about putting a grease fitting in the swingarm asyy as well.

Thoughts on this would greatly help.
Stick with the needle bearings. A grease zerk is a great idea. Put it about center of the tube. That way the lube is pushed both way's. Ive run mine that way for about 10 years now. Really prolongs the life of the bearrings, even if it is a little messy. I have pics of my placement of the zerk if you need it.

Thanks bigmc. I have the needle bearings on the way already just was curious to keep that style or try somethign different. The grease fitting is going in for sure. We have had the quadsport since the showroom floor. It is in good shape(engine internals all original ), I can't even think how many hours this baby has on it.(easily thousands.)Bearings were changed once since new that was in around 1999. Seems they last about 10 years or so. Love the quadsport it is the most reliable quad we have owned period.

Long live the Quadsport.

Hey all!
Hope the holidays are good to everyone.

Working on the 230 motor. Gotta pull the clutch side cover but it's fighting me. All the bolts are out- including the hidden one in the oil filter pocket.
It seems to still be hooked somehow on the clutch.
I can wiggle the cover a millimeter, but that's it.

Any tips?

pulll the clutch actuator shaft out. its a little rough but it will pop out. then the clutch cover should come off easily.

I think you can just leave it on.
I'm swapping covers for one with a tighter kick start lever.
