Hey i've been away from here for a while just wanted to give a quick update on the ol' 230. I mounted a works shock for a banshee on the rear and it works like a dream, with the new rear shock and my works front shocks i cannot bottom this thing out. Only modifications i had to make were to drill out the shock mounting holes and grind down the bushings on the shcok a little and since shock is a little longer i bolted a roller to the swing arm beacuase the chain rubs the pivot due to the higher angle of the swing arm. On another note I seem to be having an ignition problem when the quad starts getting hot, it misses and cuts out at high rpm, this is only an issue after running at high speed for a while so I think the jetting is ok, could it possibly be the coil?

One more question, I have a K&N filter with no air box lid, a DG Xcellerator exhaust and an FST 265cc big bore kit, I was thinking about getting a Mikuni VM 30mm carb to replace the stock 26mm, anyone have any thoughts on this?

welcome back man. 230's looking good. still sounds like your 230 is leaning out. a bigger carb should help. also did you re-jet after the k&n and the Xcellerator exhaust? because from your description it sounds like too much air and no enough fuel.

welcome to the forum. i am one of the co-contributors for The Vault. And you use 250r a arms on your 230? i would like to see how you made that work, because only 250s a arms will work with minor mods. and the 2 inch axle extenders, not really a good idea. i use a 250r rear axle and douglas 9x9 rims to widen my rears out over 3 inches without the worry of bending my axle.
