If you have a diff on the axle, you may need gear oil there, but no gear oil goes in the engine. Use 10w-40 or whatever. I think it says 10w-40 right on the oil plug,,, or maybe that's my kaw that says that,,, I don't know, but the engines are almost the same anyway and one of them says it, lol.

using the D7EA. Trying to idle real low too... shouldn't matter anyways. Still idling around 950rpms over the stock 1300. Chokes a little on a full whack of the throttle fast. Medium pull on the throttle is damn good. Plus its like 35F outside so i dont want to drop the needle right now..lol.. Rather have it looking like a 12 and summer it should be on the money.
So the main can go to like a 225....? and Idle 18?

Well, unfortunately I still think the needle is all wrong. All the hrs I have on my carb,,, I can't see that needle working right no matter what you do (except for an accelerator pump). You may get close, but I don't think the throttle response will be all it could be because it will always choke out like it not getting enough gas (because the needle don't taper enough).
On mine, you can take a sling shot and shoot the thumb throttle and it will rev up! About the only time you can't stab it is when its in gear moving really really slow and you whack it to full throttle. Get the rpms up just a little though and you can and it will take right off (probably on a wheelie).
I think you're backwards on the hot n cold thing. If you get a 12 now in 35 degree temps, you'll have a 3 in the summer. If it runs rich in the cold, it will really run rich in the heat. Mine runs really good now that its cooled off a bit. That one reason why I've been too lazy to fool with the jetting. I'll regret that tho when I take it back to the mountains in that thin air. First things first, I'll get 16-20s and play with the pilot first, if it idles check plug.. then i'll work on the main..</end quote></div>
See? That's why I like the drilling out technique better than guessing. You start lean and it won't run right, then just drill it out till its running good. Start off fooling with the main and the needle, then iron the kinks out of the idle. ....and that's where I am now, just need to find that #10 pilot jet, lol.
