Default 85 to 88 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport help.

Thanks randy, I had no idea there was an OEM case saver, I asked for one at the dealer once and they ordered me this plastic piece of **** that wouldnt protect a thing.

I was thinking of just using sheet metal screws, but some people say they rip out. I figure its cheap and worth a shot.

On the tires I'll see if i can find a used set of 18s to try out I'd hate to spend $100+ on tires just to find out I'm sittin too low.

Well off to browse craigslist and fleebay

Be more patient read the thread, I can almost garantee every question you have was asked and answered atleast once. The only real big difference I know of is the 85-86 carrier will not fit a 87-88 swing arm and vice versa. Besides that I think they stayed the same.

Check out this tire/wheel combo I found, I can garantee that I could kill those rims in one ride with how rocky it is by me http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245

Been going to bed early lately.... Diggin all day, come in and eat, out like a light shortly after sundown.

Yeah, like quadsport230 said, I think the only real difference is the carriers won't fit from a 85-86 into a 87-88. I like the 85-86 design better.

Yep, the oil lubes the engine and the tranny.

Those fast trekkers are a nice find... Look a little worn though. But the price is right!

Yup, we have the same rocks around here. First time out, rims are trashed.

If the shippinmg on those rims wasnt so expensive I'd probably put a bid in and see waht happens, but $42 for shipping +atleast $50 for the tires negates a good deal for me

Well, consider rims are about 50 each and tires are about 50 each... Its a $200 deal. Also consider Titan no longer makes those tires. But don't tell anybody, I want to get a set one day.

I asked that guy with the fast trekkers what they weigh, he threw them on a scale for me and said they weigh 15lbs. My Kendas weigh 16 and the Trac Stars weigh 17. 15lbs is pretty light.

Figures.... The stuff I don't want to buy, the seller turns out to be a nice guy. The stuff I do want, they won't answer my forking question!
